Geraldine Village
As a boutique shopping village, Geraldine features indigenous Maori arts, sculpture, woodwork, clothing, photography and artwork, as well as a tasty selection of handmade chocolates, cheeses, jams, sauces and dessert toppings.
Talbot Forest at the heart of the village has many short bush walks, as does the Waihi River. The village features a museum, vintage machinery museum, glass blowing, a lovely cinema and a fine choice of cafes and restaurants for eating out.
Rangitata Rafts
Rangitata Rafts is a short drive from the Geraldine Township and offers a real New Zealand experience where you can enjoy some awesome rapids down one of New Zealand's most beautiful rivers.
Rafting is available for all skill levels with grade 1-5 rapids and offers a full day of fun, laughs and memories.

Geraldine Observatory

The Geraldine Observatory is only a short few minutes walk from the Scenic Route Motor Lodge and Peter has over 40 years experience as an astronomer.

Geraldine Vintage Car and Machinery Museum
The Geraldine Vintage Car Club and Machinery Museum has a display of over 1400 exhibits. These include 101 tractors from 1912 onwards, including the oldest working tractor in New Zealand and thirty vintage cars from 1905. An interesting collection of classic cars. There are many items of farm equipment including hot air engines, stationary motors and a Threshing Mill. Also on display is a 1929 Spartan Biplane, household items, agricultural equipment and much much more.
Geraldine Farmers Market
From October to April each year the Geraldine Farmers Market is ‘the’ place to be in Geraldine on a Saturday morning.
Operating from 9 – 12.30 pm, the market bustles with fresh produce, crafts, coffee and delicious baking.
The market is a real highlight for locals and visitors alike.
